All American Quarter Horse Congress

Over the next few months we will be dedicating our Fridays Favorites blogs to our favorite fall horse shows and events, including our favorite shopping spots at these shows.  Starting with the largest single breed horse show in the world, the All American Quarter Horse Congress!!!!!

The first annual All American Quarter Horse Congress was held on November 3-5, 1967 at the Ohio State Fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio. Registration was $20 for three days, $15 for Saturday and Sunday and $5 for Sunday only. More than 5,000 horsemen and women came to the first Congress and the event was a hit, netting the association $15,000 over its three-day run. Today the Congress is known as the world’s largest single-breed horse show, boasting more than 17,000 entries annually and housing nearly 6,000 registered American Quarter Horses during its three-week duration.

The All American Quarter Horse Congress offers more than 250 commercial exhibitors in a seven-acre indoor equine shopping experience, with additional outside space as well. Commercial exhibitors offer everything from show clothing to tack to towing vehicles and trailers to equine art, jewelry, furniture and much more.  Leading up to the Congress we will feature our favorite stores and boutiques that will be carrying Kimes Ranch Apparel at this HUGE Congress trade show. We also have a few exciting surprises coming your way for the Congress!!!!  Just keep posted on our Facebook page for the inside scoop.
