Headed to the NFR? Never been? Been every year? Regardless of your NFR relationship status, I'm here to help you get through NFR with ease! Being an NFR newbie and also a Vegas Newbie as well I figured it would've been nice to have a "guide to the galaxy" so to speak.
Accommodation choices:
- Hotels near or far from the strip
- Air BnB
Remember that Uber and cabs are all over the city so it's easy to catch and Uber to wherever you need to go so staying on the strip is not a necessity.
What to wear:
Pretty much anything goes in Vegas, we all know this! But anything sparkly, fringe enhanced or cowboy is highly encouraged and expected. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended as there will be a TON of walking. Especially when walking through the tradeshows, they are all concrete floors so you want to make sure you are comfortable all day.
Shopping:
Cowboy Christmas is unreal! There are a number of options that I'd like to share. There's the most obvious...Cowboy Christmas at the Las Vegas Convention Center. But do not forget to visit the shops at Mandalay Bay, Pavilions, and South Pointe. Be sure to check them all out so you, don't miss out miss out on any of the amazing deals or goodies! Kimes has booths in all facilities for your convenience! The Kimes Ranch Booth at the Pavilions has cowboy coffee, autograph signings and fashion shows daily so be sure to check those out!
After Parties:
Looking for an after party? Try the MGM! There are always a free concert or DJ to be found putting out good music in the Gold Buckle Zone.
Rodeo:
Last but never least the rodeo itself. Each night is held at the Thomas and Mack center on the UNLV campus at 6:45pm. If you don't have tickets the South Pointe has a live viewing of the event every evening, the buckle ceremony is held there as well. Let me tell ya, those cowboy and cowgirls really know how to put on a show. These are the best in the world, and we couldn't be prouder to support them while they chase their dreams.
Been to Vegas? Please chime in on some of your favorite things to do while at the NFR!
