Good Morning Everyone!!
It's currently 9:30 on a Tuesday morning, and it just so happens to be my Birthday today ( March 15th, 2016 ) !! How am I spending my Birthday today? First off, I'm trying to finish up as many sponsorship obligations as I can before I go into work at noon. Whatever I don't finish I will have to pick up where I left off when I get off work tonight at 6! With that being said, I'm also working on my very first Instagram interview!! I'm super excited, because I have never really done an Instagram interview before.. I love doing new interviews on social media platforms that I've never had an interview on before! On my blog post this week for Kimes Ranch Jeans.. I have decided to give you guy's a peek inside the interview and why Instagram is one of my FAVORITE social media apps for rodeo right now! Check it out:
The first question everyone asks me is.. How do you build a fan base on Instagram? How do you know what content to post? Etc.
To be honest, it's all about trial and error. I took some notes from other big Instagram accounts, and I kind of followed their guidelines but it didn't really work for me, and I wasn't getting a lot of traffic. So, I decided to try a different route and that worked for a little bit and eventually it died off. I'm always having to get creative and think of new ways to draw people into my page. I draw inspiration from music (EDM) and reading different magazines such as Cosmopolitan, and western horseman.
For Example, my #BullfighterFriday hashtag started out on Instagram and it grew into something bigger. Now, I have upcoming bullfighters take over my snapchat channel and share their story. They gain media exposure, and it helps get bookings and their name out everywhere!!
This is a true story! Instagram opens HUGE doors for your career in whichever that may be! I started the very first bull rider profile/bronc riding profile series! I picked up two HUGE sponsors for that series. One being, Ride Right and the other being Kimes Ranch Jeans! Every month we picked out one winner out of all of the bull rider profiles that were posted that month and that winner had the chance to create a custom bull riding vest and a new pair of riding jeans! That winner of the month was the cover of all of our promotional media that we used to help promote the profile series on Instagram!
Just remember, what works for one Instagram account does not always work for your Instagram account! Be creative, and create your own fan base! Instagram, is full of creativity and opportunities!
Hopefully those tips from my instagram interview helped you out! As always..
