Tips and tricks that I Learned from the Super Bowl that I put into Rodeo Social Media Marketing

Okay, I lied.

My second favorite thing about the Super Bowl is creating new fun snacks to munch on during the game. Because, who doesn't love junk finger food?


One of the most popular junk food ads I saw all over social media, and all over the Super Bowl commercials is Dorito's. I'm talking Carolina Panther Chips and Denver Bronco Chips! Blue and Orange Chip bags, and so much more! Not to mention, Tostitos joined in on the fun and they created these easy to fix nacho cheese bowls. All you had to do is put them in the microwave for 60 seconds and BAM you had an amazing chip and cheese dip.


The most popular drinks I saw featured on Social Media during the Super Bowl was Pepsi, Coca Cola, and Coors Light. These three drinks go PERFECTLY with Chips and Cheese. I Don't know about you guy's.. But if you ever noticed when you go to a concert or a game these items are ALWAYS sold and being sold out.


Why are these food and drink items so popular at events? Look at how the event promotes their concession stand and what items they sell. Truth be told, one of my favorite football players is Aaron Rodgers and he plays for the Green Bay Packers. If I saw a cardboard stand of Aaron holding a Coca Cola and a bag of Doritos at one of the concession stands I'm probably going to stop at that one. If a social media site posted that same picture on their Facebook, Instagram etc. You bet I'm going to give there page a follow.

Okay, enough about the food..

But, did anyone see how STRONG the emoji game was during the Super Bowl this year? I mean, The Carolina Panthers had their own Emoji. The Denver Broncos had their own Emoji. The Pepsi halftime show had it's own Emoji


Why can't the National Finals Rodeo the super bowl of rodeo and the PBR the super bowl of bull riding have it's own Emoji?  I mean, the NFR and the PBR is now featured on CBS Sports Network. Isn't that big enough??!!      


I guess what it comes down to is this, finding a popular junk food item and drink that's SO popular in the rodeo world that it creates a buzz. Get all the rodeo contestants to help promote that popular junk food and drink. Post cardboards every where, and promote the crap out of it! Seems easier said than done, but how will we ever know? I goes will just have to find out!


Last but not least, Dorito's also did a HUGE giveaway during the super bowl. In order, for you to be eligible you had to create a post on twitter or any other social media site with the hash tags #Doritos and #Entry. At the end of the game they chose a couple winners that were the most creative with their Dorito's post. The winner's received a nice chunk of change.. As in, a check made out to them for 50K!


You can bet there was ALL kinds of buzz about that contest. That's what rodeo needs.. A popular Rodeo Junk Food item or drink to put up a contest like that during the rodeo or PBR finals in Las Vegas!


The moral of this blog post is, the Emoji game is strong. Rodeo and Bull Riding needs a popular rodeo junk food item and a popular drink item.
