Rodeo Ready

Packing the trailer for the summer can sometimes feel like a chore. Making sure you have all the things needed for your horse and event is quite a task. The buckets, the hay, saddles and pads and ropes. But what do you pack in the trailer to make a fashion statement? I have a few essentials that I always pack in my trailer to make sure that when I am done competing I can always show off my style and personality. I will tell you my secrets on how I can quickly put together a bomb outfit as I go from competing in the arena to the stands cheering on my friends.

First I always start with the jeans. For me I am usually competing so I try to always wear a pair that I can rock in and out of the arena. My new go-to pair is the Jennifers. They have a high waist that keeps my rodeo shirts tucked in and a flare that is perfect for boots and spurs or a wedge to add height and style.

After competing I am not one to stay in my rodeo shirt due to the heat so I always have another top to change into. For me my graphic tees are an essential and my must-have in the trailer. I love the versatility and how easy they are to change into. For me I like to tie a little knot in them just to add that little extra sass to my outfit. If you're not sure my girl over at Tribe West Boutique always has a great selection.

After that I usually go to my hair. And Lord let me tell ya after having that cowboy hat on in the heat, it is not a pretty sight. For me I usually go to a ball cap-I always have a couple hidden away in trailer. My other quick and easy thing to do is a half messy bun. Embrace the mess girls it can always look cute. It takes the already hot mess and makes it look like an acceptable hot mess. There are a few other quick style options like side braids or fashion hats that are also easy to change into-these two are just my personal go to’s.

There are only a few things left to create the perfect outfit, and one is of course shoes! I try to keep a versatile pair in the trailer that I know will go with most of my clothes. My all time favorites are my red Old Gringo boots. They are super comfy and I can wear them all night, and they are also so easy to slip into. Plus, they are so dang cute!

After that my outfit is basically complete. I will make sure I have my go-to jewelry pieces on, do a little touch up on the makeup, add my sunglasses if the sun’s out and then boom I am ready to turn heads and make those cowboys stare! Trust me it may seem like a lot, but with practice it can take literally minutes. Keep these essentials in the trailer all summer and you will never not have a killer outfit.
